April Wine "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 07-12-24

 


Canadian rock band April Wine is the "focus beam" artist on this week's Boppin' With Beth! Hear about their story and a couple of rockin' tracks from their catalog. There's tunes from some influences of their late lead singer (and primary songwriter), Myles Goodwyn including Hank Snow, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Rush. Beth's Lightning Round returns with guest Cory M. Coons and a track from him celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Jammin' James Riley has a song from The Surfrajettes in Hang Ten! A solo track by Myles Goodwyn closes the show. Fellow Canadian Darren Michael Boyd is the outro music bed too!

Mark Farner "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 03-31-23

 


American singer, songwriter and guitarist Mark Farner is the "focus beam" artist on this new episode of Boppin' With Beth. Hear about his early bands, time with Grand Funk Railroad and his solo career including a couple of tunes from his discography. Plus, there's songs from some of his influences including Howard Tate, Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Eric Clapton, Rick Derringer, Jeff Beck (feat. Boppin' With Beth Christmas Show 12-23-22

 

It's a boppin' Christmas show on this week's Boppin' With Beth. A show dedicated to all the artists that we lost this year and 2 members of my family that passed away in 1958 (My Grandmother, Frances Letha Cook) and this year (my uncle, Grady Orbin Cook), respectively. The times are sad, the music doesn't have to be. There are tunes from The Brian Setzer Orchestra, James Taylor, Shenandoah, JD McPherson, Cory M. Coons (ft. his 8 year old daughter, Charleigh Lynn Coons), Chris Isaak, Jesse Terry, Shaun Young, Los Straitjackets, Dave Del Monte and The Cross County Boys, The Beach Boys, Mark Malibu & The Wasagas, Phil Keaggy, The Smithereens and Chris Hillman & Herb Pederson.
