Boppin' With Beth Christmas Show 12-23-22

 

It's a boppin' Christmas show on this week's Boppin' With Beth. A show dedicated to all the artists that we lost this year and 2 members of my family that passed away in 1958 (My Grandmother, Frances Letha Cook) and this year (my uncle, Grady Orbin Cook), respectively. The times are sad, the music doesn't have to be. There are tunes from The Brian Setzer Orchestra, James Taylor, Shenandoah, JD McPherson, Cory M. Coons (ft. his 8 year old daughter, Charleigh Lynn Coons), Chris Isaak, Jesse Terry, Shaun Young, Los Straitjackets, Dave Del Monte and The Cross County Boys, The Beach Boys, Mark Malibu & The Wasagas, Phil Keaggy, The Smithereens and Chris Hillman & Herb Pederson. Plus, there's tracks from Lucky Jones, The Chieftains with Jackson Browne, Diamond Rio and a tune from Pat Huggins to close out the show. Merry Christmas!

Tracy Chapman "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 09-23-22

 


Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman is the "focus beam" artist on this week's Boppin' With Beth. We'll hear tunes from some of her influences including Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young, Odetta and a couple of tracks from her discography. Jesse Terry "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 12-31-21




Singer-songwriter Jesse Terry is the "focus beam" artist this week. You'll hear from some of his influences including Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell plus some of his stellar tunes from his catalog, as well as a couple of his family members to help tell about his story. Jesse is also the guest in this week's Beth's Lightning Round for some fun rapid fire questions. 2021 Tribute/Christmas show on Boppin' With Beth 12-24-21

 


This is our annual Tribute/Christmas show as we look back at some of the artists we lost in 2021 as well as play some select Christmas songs in the mix as well. We play tunes from those we lost including Chuck Morpurgo (guitarist with Dallas Moore), Lloyd Price, BJ Thomas (Christmas tune from him), Kansas (Robby Steinhardt), ZZ Top (Dusty Hill), The Rolling Stones (Charlie Watts), Black Oak Arkansas (Rickie Lee Reynolds), Tom T. Country music icon, Charley Pride, is our "focus beam" artist this week. You'll hear about the incredible career of this late, great entertainer including a couple of his stellar tunes.
