Beth's Crate Digging Extravaganza: The Beach Boys- "The Beach Boys Today!" (1965) 06-14-24

 


There's nothing like a trip to the record shop and a cool new Beth's Crate Digging Extravaganza on this episode of Boppin' With Beth. This week, we dig into "The Beach Boys Today!" album from 1965! We'll hear 2 full songs and snippets of the others. Plus, there's covers of most of the songs on the album by Al Jardine, Brian Wilson, The Weeklings, Johnathan Pushkar, She & Him, Pat DiNizio, Wilson Phillips and The Red Squares. Hear the original versions of a couple of tracks by Bobby Freeman and The Students. Plus, Beth's Lightning Round returns with Mark Malibu from Mark Malibu & The Wasagas along with his favorite tune from their discography. Jammin' James Riley also has a cool track from The Surfaris in Hang Ten!

Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 05-24-24

 


American keyboardist, producer, singer and songwriter Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. is the "focus beam" artist on this week's Boppin' With Beth! Hear about his career (both in bands and solo) as well as a couple of great solo tunes from his discography. There's also tracks from some of his bands including Jellyfish, Imperial Drag and when was in Beck's backing band. There's tunes from some of his influences including The Beach Boys, Kiss, Yes, 10cc and XTC. Beth's Bop Of The Week is a new tune from Christian Love! Kansas "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 04-19-24

 


American rock band Kansas is the "focus beam" artist on this new Boppin' With Beth. Hear about their career, member changes and a couple of rockin' tracks from their discography.
