Micky Dolenz "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 06-02-23



American musician, actor and producer Micky Dolenz is the "focus beam" artist on this new episode of Boppin' With Beth. Hear about his life and career including childhood tv star, a member of The Monkees, solo career, tv production and more! There's a couple of great solo tunes as well as a couple from The Monkees in the mix! Hear songs from a wide variety of musical influences including The Beatles, Harry Nilsson, The Kingston Trio, Jimmy Bryant (West Side Story), Sons Of The Pioneers and Tennessee Ernie Ford. The Grip Weeds "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 05-06-22




American rock band The Grip Weeds are the "focus beam" artist on this Boppin' With Beth. You'll hear all about their history as well as some tunes from their stellar catalog. Kurt Reil from the band is the guest for Beth's Lightning Round as well. Jim Babjak from The Smithereens has known the band since the beginning and joins the conversation about the early days and working in their studio called House Of Vibes. We'll play some tunes from some of their influences including The Smithereens, The Hollies, The Beach Boys, The Moody Blues, The Who, The Byrds and a track from Paul McCartney which is Kurt's favorite artist. Jammin' James Riley has a Royce Porter tune in Rockabilly Rewind and there's songs from The Rooks and The Anderson Council as well.
