Warren Zevon "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 12-08-23

 


The late, great Warren Zevon is the "focus beam" artist on the new Boppin' With Beth. Hear about his life, career and untimely passing. There's a couple of great solo tracks from his catalog as well as one from his side band, Hindu Love Gods. There's some songs from influences and peers including The Everly Brothers, Jackson Browne, Randy Newman, Bob Dylan as well as covers by Linda Ronstadt, The Turtles and The Bangles. Beth's Bop Of The Week is a great song from Warren's son, Jordan Zevon! Jammin' James Riley has a tune by The Trashmen in Hang Ten!

The Bangles "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 01-07-22

 


American pop rock band The Bangles are the "focus beam" band this week. Hear about their history along with some influences and peers including Blues Magoos, The Beach Boys, Talking Heads, The Byrds, Blondie, The Go-Go's, The Patti Smith Group, Love, The B-52's as well as a couple of rockin' tracks from their catalog.
