Joe Diffie "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 11-03-23

 


The late, great American country music singer Joe Diffie is the "focus beam" artist on this week's show. Hear about his career, untimely passing and a couple of tunes from his solo discography as well as a track with his pals Billy Dean, Sammy Kershaw and Aaron Tippin. There's songs from some of his influences including George Jones (which he also appears on), Merle Haggard & The Strangers, Hank Thompson, Johnny Cash, Lefty Frizzell, Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Beth's Bop Of The Week is a new tune from Richard Lynch. Jammin' James Riley has a unique 80's cover by Frankie & The Pool Boys in Hang Ten. Glen Templeton closes the show with a special acoustic version of a Joe Diffie classic in his honor.

Radney Foster "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 11-11-22

 


Texas/Americana, singer-songwriter, producer and author Radney Foster is the "Focus Beam" artist this week! Hear about his great solo career, duo with Bill Lloyd (Foster & Lloyd), producing and more along with a couple of tunes from his catalog (solo and duo). There's songs from some of his varied influences including Elvis Presley, Merle Haggard, The Everly Brothers, Waylon Jennings, The Beatles, Buck Owens & His Buckaroos and Buddy Holly. Jammin' James Riley has The Beach Boys' first single from over 60 years ago in Hang Ten plus there's tracks from Randy Rogers Band (produced by Radney) and songs written by Radney from Shenandoah, The Kinleys and The Mavericks as well as a fun song from Chris Isaak to end the show!
