The Cars "Focus Beam" on Boppin' With Beth 08-18-23

 


Rev it up and LET'S GO! The Cars are the "focus beam" artist on this new Boppin' With Beth! Hear about their history including early bands, a couple of tracks from their discography (and a solo tune from Ric Ocasek) as well as influences including The Stooges, Buddy Holly, Slade Tommy James and The Shondells, T. Rockford, IL's most famous sons, Cheap Trick, is our "focus beam" band this week! We'll hear from some of their influences including The Beatles, Raspberries, Big Star, The Who, The Beach Boys, Sex Pistols, The Kinks and Dwight Twilley Band. Of course, we'll dig into their great career and spin a couple of great rockers from their catalog. Jammin' James Riley has a Carl Perkins classic in Rockabilly Rewind and we play the new duet with John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen!
